We like to push it to the limit and the good folks at The Adventurists are pushing it to the max looking at this video. Check out the Rickshaw Run right here and just remember that it is all done for a good cause.
Imagine the fastest, safest, most earth-munching all-terrain vehicle in the world. Then imagine the opposite. Three wheels, half a horse power and more fun than any other vehicle on planet earth, the humble rickshaw is undoubtedly the ultimate long distance, off-road machine. Despite being designed for short distances on road.
Now imagine the bliss of trying to get this untrustworthy steed over the Himalayas or across the Rajasthan desert. This then is the Rickshaw Run; an unsupported maniac of an adventure which wobbles over thousands of miles of ridiculous terrain. The most stupid and probably the best thing you could possibly do with two weeks.
Organised by UK based outfit The Adventurists, the Rickshaw Run is an extreme fortnight of mud, sweat, mountains and jungles. It is a simple, intentionally ridiculous and hugely popular adventure designed to raise money for charities in India and guarantee the very tallest of tales to bore your grandchildren with. Teams on the Rickshaw Run have now raised over £1million for charity since 2009.
If you want to fulfil your adventuring appetite, sign up is currently open to a limited number of places for the April 2013 edition spluttering it's way from Cochin to Shillong. Find out more: http://www.theadventurists.com/the-adventures/rickshaw-run
