EARTHQUAKE ROCKS NEW ZEALAND

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has hit Christchurch in New Zealand, the biggest city on the southern island. Early reports are talking of power outages and large aftershocks. This is the first earthquake to hit New Zealand since July last year which measured 7.8.
