John Paul Gaultier must be feeling the wrath of Mitch Winehouse after showcasing his Autumn/Winter 2012 line in Paris this week. The show featured various models rocking beehives as they strutted their stuff down the catwalk decked out in garments similar to the fifties and sixties styles Amy was renowned for wearing. Mitch, Amy's father, has blasted Gaultier and his line saying it is in extremely bad taste considering it is only six months since his daughter was found dead in her Camden flat.
The designer paid homage to Amy, saying that the line was a tribute to the late singer adding'She was an icon of fashion and truly, the sense of how she mixed the clothes - it was great.' But Mitch is unhappy about the whole episode and, of course, brought up the fact that no donation was made to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, even though Amy's music was played for the show, thus earning the foundation money through royalties. Had Mitch not mentioned money and just voiced his opinion about this, you might have some sympathy but it is all about the cash with Mitch.
